Her journey has been long and difficult. The magic that helped her fly and stay young had started to fade. Her stays outside of Neverland had now become dangerous. She risked being stranded and unable to get back. And if you stayed away too long...
She didn't want to think about it.
She had a job to do. She floated a top the cloud and closed her eyes. The wind whipping her hair in a mess. She didn't mind, it was fun.
The land below her was quite. The sun haven fallen hours ago, and most people had gone to bed. But the Wren could see a glimmer of light, atop the highest tower of the castle. The rest of the village surrounded this castle.
Wren started to grin. She could feel a pull towards the light, towards the occupant of the tower. This was the person she had been looking for.
Leaning forward she let the magic carry her towards the window. Finally she stops and rests her feet lightly on the stone sill below her. Inside the room she could see the candle flickering over a young face. A girl.
There wasn't any others in the room, the girl was the sole occupant. She must be mistaken, she'd never been called to a girl before. She must be mistaken.
She pulls out a small, thin flute out of her jacket. She starts to play, letting the music do her work for her. If the girl heard it and woke up, she would confirm that she was the person that she had been called to.
She plays her song...
